#6. What’s the Most Expensive Thing You Own? What Was It Like to Buy It?

The most expensive thing that I own isn’t something that I’ve bought myself. It was given to me as a gift, and it’s a necklace with my father’s ashes in it. In fact, I think all the expensive things that I own are things that were given to me as a gift. Partly because I still live on the very student mentality of spending more than £50 on an object is way too much money, and partly because I’d rather spend money on other stuff.

If the question was what was the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought? I’d have a list. I tend to spend most of my money on travel, on plane tickets, hotel rooms, train fares. I’ve also spent a lot of money recently on conventions for The 100, a T.V. show that I watch religiously. Material possessions are nice, and I own everything I think I need at the moment, but I’d much rather spend my money on experiences. Those are the things that I’ll remember throughout my life, plus the memories that I make doing these things are priceless.
